With the birth of JMF, the founder Jestina Mukoko has no doubt whatsoever that this is an idea that many communities have been waiting for. Any support towards realizing this vision in a short turnaround period is greatly appreciated.
More often than not, true healing takes place in private spaces, away from the spotlight. While JMF will work with mainstream civil society organization to gain access to survivors and victims, it seeks to operate in a quiet and almost invisible manner. This approach is designed to ensure that the healing and restoration work becomes the main focus, and the focus is on the individuals. It must be so to avoid the seduction of fame, the attraction of public performance and the damage caused by unwarranted scrutiny.
